Questions

What is Dekkr?

A card-game design studio for your Mac or PC. You design a card's front and back with a full layer editor, fill a table with your cards, and Dekkr draws every card from the design. Then you export print-ready files.

What does it cost?

$59.99, once. There is no subscription, no account and no free plan: you buy Dekkr, get a license key by email and keep it. Every 1.x update and every Dekkr template is included.

Does it run on Mac and Windows?

Yes. Dekkr needs macOS 14 or later or Windows 10 or 11. After you buy, you download it for either one, and the same key works on whichever you choose.

How many computers can I use it on?

One, a Mac or a PC. Moving to a new one? Free your key from the old computer in the customer portal (Find my license, at the foot of every page), then enter it on the new one. The portal also keeps your key and downloads.

Will my cards print correctly at a print shop?

Every design is a 600 ppi master with a 4 mm bleed and a 5 mm safe zone. The print shop export has presets for DriveThruCards, PrintNinja, Panda, LongPack, Ludo Fact, Cartamundi, MOO and others, writes PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4 in CMYK, and adds crop marks when you want them.

Can I keep my card list in a spreadsheet?

Yes. Keep it in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers, save it as CSV, and Import CSV brings the cards into the table, fields matched by name. Export CSV takes them back out.

Where are my decks saved?

On your computer, as files. Open, copy, back up and send them like any other file. Nothing is kept on our servers.

What updates do I get?

Every 1.x update, at no extra cost.

Do the templates cost extra?

No. Every Dekkr template comes with the app, and you can save any deck as your own template.

Which card sizes are there?

77 sizes: poker, bridge and TCG cards, tarot and large cards, mini and micro cards, squares, circles and hexes, and business and ID cards. Each has its own corner radius.

Can I use my own fonts and pictures?

Yes. 221 fonts are built in, and you can add your own .ttf or .otf, which is saved inside the deck. Add PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF pictures, or use the picture library.

Can one deck have different card types?

Yes. Make a design for each type, say units and spells, and let a field pick which design each card uses. Each design has its own front and back.

Can I make my game in several languages?

Add languages to the deck and translate the fields you choose. Each translation is a column in the table, and you can export one language or a set for each.

Does it work with Tabletop Simulator?

Yes. The Tabletop Simulator export writes deck sheets of up to 69 cards with the hidden card, and a text file with the import steps.

Who owns what I make?

You do. Your decks stay on your computer. You need the rights to the pictures and text you use.
